Meet Donatello

Randy was mowing our lawn and found this little guy chilling’ in the grass. Good thing we went to a turtle show when we were camping, we could easily identify that it was a box turtle. They have a “hinge” under their shell that allows them to close tightly to escape predators. See, I paid attention!! We laid it at the edge of the woods and has stayed there since then. Kala can’t get enough of poor Donatello. She comes up to him very slowly and stares at him. Then she tries to sniff him, as soon as he moves she jumps back all scare. And she is supposed to be a hunting dog?
Remember that post about the stalker squirrel? A few people mentioned that they thought it was a mama squirrel. When I showed Randy the pics I took he even said - ‘that squirrel is exposing herself to me, she needs a bra. She is like a double D in squirrel world!” . Well, you guys were right. A few weeks later she came back with her baby. CUTEST thing EVER!

Cosa más tierna no he visto!

Loved seeing your extended family! Isn't it wonderful being a part of nature? That turtle is a pretty good sized one. The ones I would see near us when I was younger weren't nearly that big. Hope all is well with you and yours.
Hugs alot.
